Alexis Stokes is Dean of The Bill Munday School of Business at 顶级国产视频 in Austin. Dean Stokes is committed to empowering socio-economically transformative opportunities for students, their families, and their communities, while also creating a vibrant and inclusive hub for business thought leadership in Austin. Prior to joining St. Edward's University in 2023, Dean Stokes served as associate dean at Texas State University's McCoy College of Business, where she facilitated efforts to build a strong research culture, empower faculty and staff success, expand global engagement opportunities, foster a diverse, inclusive, and accessible environment, and plan strategically for the future of business. In addition, she led McCoy College鈥檚 AACSB maintenance of accreditation efforts, served as the University鈥檚 faculty ombuds, directed MBA study abroad programs, and chaired or served on more than 40 different task forces and committees, including important initiatives on impact of research, curriculum, student success, and global strategy. Dean Stokes has taught more than 8000 students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has published in the fields of securities law, corporate governance, and international dispute resolution. She is a past-president of the International Law Section of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, a current board director for the Southwestern Business Deans Association, and currently focuses her free time on non-profit service and leadership in the Austin community.
Dean Stokes earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Political Science, and Managerial Studies, cum laude, from Rice University, and her Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, where she served as president and editor-in-chief of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. After Harvard, she served as a briefing attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas, practiced international commercial arbitration in Houston, and taught at the University of Houston Law Center. She is a certified mediator and licensed to practice law in Texas.
