Associate Professor and MBA Director of The Bill Munday School of Business

Amr Swid leads the development and execution of strategic plans to align the MBA program with the mission of St. Edward’s University. His teaching philosophy is focused on students’ engagement using experiential learning activities and technology.

With nearly 15 years of academic experience, Amr has taught over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students and published extensively in top-tier journals on the topics of organizational psychology, management and global business. He serves as Program Chair for an international conference and Associate Editor for two Scopus-indexed journals.

Before joining St. Edward’s in 2018, Amr held leadership roles at the New York Institute of Technology, including Director of Experiential Education, Associate Dean, and Department Assessment Director. His extensive professional experience as a Business Manager at Eli Lilly, combined with his academic expertise, allows him to bridge academia and industry effectively.

Education

Amr holds a BSc in Pharmacy (cum laude), an MBA from Strathclyde Business School, and a PhD in Management from Aston Business School. He is a certified experiential educator, a licensed pharmacist in multiple countries, and has consulted and trained for government agencies and private enterprises in Bahrain and New York.
